WoW Movie

Author: Kevin

Lok’thar! (Orcish greeting from Warcraft) Seems like our wish for a World of Warcraft® movie is coming soon (http://www.blizzard.com/us/press/090721.html)!  Sam Raimi (director of Spiderman 4) have taken up the raid leader position to direct this epic tale.  This looks promising since his directing have been of the sci-fi/fantasy genre.  From what Blizzard have hinted, this will not be a journey-like tale but a tale of warfare and racial strife (e.g., humans versus orcs).

Would that mean the storyline would be generic (e.g., overview of the conflict)?  Would that mean they will bog down the story so that it will make sense to the World of Warcraft® “noobs” that know little of Azeroth and Outland (and Argus and Draenor)?  Would this be a movie-long commercial?  A 140-minute raid?  Leeroy?

Knowing Blizzard, probably no to all those (I hope).  I am assuming they would not deviate from their storyline and story-telling abilities that have en-THRALL-ed us in the past.  If any of you had played the original game and actually followed along with the storyline, you would have noticed the depth and breadth of the storyline (not to mention the shiny cinematics in between game play).  Let us hope that we shall be able to see Azeroth in all its glory!

Just for fun (for those who play WoW):

Q: What do you get when you eat in Vengeance Landing?
A: SEVERE STOMACH PAIN?! (Note from author: I swear I heard this over 100 times while training fishing there)
